Client Portal Access
Overview
The Client Portal Access feature enables staff to verify and support the purchaser's experience in the Client Portal. This capability ensures accurate support delivery and helps staff understand exactly what purchasers see when accessing their portal.
Important Security Notice
To maintain system integrity and data security:
- Remove test user access immediately after completing your review
- Do not modify any data while using the Client Portal
- Use only test email addresses that you have access too
Prerequisites
Before accessing the Client Portal:
- Have a dedicated test email address (not work email)
- Have a test email for which you have inbox access
Steps
Step 1: Create Test Purchaser for Client Portal Access
- In the Sales App, navigate to the unit detailed page
- Select the Contacts tab from the top menu
- Click Add dropdown and select "Purchaser"
- Configure the test purchaser:
- Create a new contact or use an existing test account
- Click Submit
Email Requirements
Test contact requirements:
- For new contacts, use an email address that is not already registered in the system.
- Do not use your work email address
- Must be an email address for which you have inbox access, as a verification code will be sent to this email.
Step 2: Access the Portal
- Navigate to the Client Portal
- Enter your test contact email
- Click Submit
- Enter the verification code sent to your email and click Submit
- You will now be able to view the Client Portal exactly as the Purchaser sees it.
Step 3: Remove Access for your test Purchaser
After completing your review:
- Return to the Sales App and navigate to the unit details page containing your test Purchaser
- Find your test purchaser contact
- Click the Test Purchaser Card
- A side panel will appear and click the Red Garabage Can Icon located at the top right of the side panel
- Click Yes to Confirm deletion in the warning prompt
Data Removal Warning
The Red Garbage Can Icon deletion:
- Permanently removes all contact history
- Cannot be reversed
- Should only be used for:
- Removing test access
- Correcting data entry errors
Step 4: Verify Cleanup
Before concluding:
- Confirm all legitimate purchasers are still listed
- Verify your test contact is fully removed in the purchaser tab
- Ensure no unintended changes were made
