Workbench FAQS

Options Special Categories

Certain option categories have special behavior in the system beyond standard Sales Options. This section covers common questions about these special categories and how to use them effectively.

What makes certain option categories "special"?

Special categories like Color Scheme, Parking Slot, and Storage Locker have unique behaviors beyond standard pricing and selection. They may involve inventory management (parking/storage), construction workflow integration (color schemes), or have system-wide implications for tracking and reporting.

Which categories have special behavior?

The three main special categories are:

  • Color Scheme — Integrates with the Unit Manager and construction tracking
  • Parking Slot — Connects to physical parking inventory that can only be assigned once
  • Storage Locker — Connects to physical storage inventory that can only be assigned once

Other categories like Structural, Electrical, and Plumbing have special considerations but don't have unique system behavior.

Color Schemes

Why should I use the Color Scheme category instead of a generic category?

Color Scheme options have special integration throughout the Pluto platform. They automatically populate contract details, appear in the Unit Manager with visual indicators, and tie into construction tracking and specification sheets. This helps teams know which units have completed their finish selections and ensures color scheme information flows consistently across all documentation.

How many color scheme options should a unit have?

Each unit should have only one color scheme option—the Interior Color Scheme. This represents the purchaser's finish selections and integrates with construction tracking to show which units have completed their interior selections.

Parking Slots

How do parking slot options differ from standard options?

Parking slot options connect to physical inventory—each stall can only be assigned to one unit at a time. When you create a parking slot Sales Option, you select a specific stall from available inventory rather than just adding a generic option.

How do I add a parking slot to a deal?

  1. Click Add Option and select the Parking Slot category
  2. Select the parking location (if the project has multiple lots/garages)
  3. Filter available stalls by level, attributes (covered, handicap, EV-ready), or price range
  4. Select the specific stall to assign
  5. Set the price and complete the Sales Option

What do the parking stall statuses mean?

StatusMeaning
AvailableCan be assigned to a unit
AssignedIncluded in a pending or approved Sales Option

Why can't I see a parking stall that should be available?

Parking stalls can only be assigned to one unit at a time. Check the Parking & Storage management area in the Workbench to see its current assignment. If a Sales Option is removed or denied, the stall returns to available status.

Where are parking stalls set up?

Parking stalls are configured in the Workbench under the Parking & Storage section, separate from Sales Options. This includes parking locations, individual stall definitions with numbers and attributes, and base pricing.

Storage Lockers

How do storage locker options work?

Storage locker options work similarly to parking slots—they connect Sales Options to specific physical storage units from your project inventory. Each locker can only be assigned to one unit at a time.

How do I add a storage locker to a deal?

  1. Click Add Option and select the Storage Locker category
  2. Browse available lockers for the project
  3. Select the specific locker—you can view the locker number, size, location, and any notes
  4. Set the price and complete the Sales Option

What happens when a storage locker Sales Option is denied or removed?

The locker returns to available status and can be assigned to another unit. The inventory is automatically updated when Sales Options are approved, denied, or removed.
